ALTERNANTHERA REINECKII 'Rosanervig' x5+
Alternanthera reineckii ‘Rosanervig’ – Description
• General Appearance and Introduction
Alternanthera reineckii ‘Rosanervig’ is a striking stem plant known for its vivid pink veining and deep red coloration. It brings a bold visual contrast to planted aquariums and performs best under medium to high light. Its upright growth habit and vibrant tones make it a favourite in aquascaping layouts that require a strong colour accent. With proper care, it develops a dense, bushy form through regular trimming.
• Leaf Characteristics and Aquascaping Use
Leaves are broad, slightly oval, and marked with distinct pink–white veins.
The underside of the leaves often displays deeper red or burgundy tones.
Under strong lighting, the colour contrast becomes more intense and the plant grows more compact.
Aquascaping applications:
Ideal for midground placement.
Creates a powerful colour contrast against green plants.
Works beautifully in Dutch‑style layouts as a red focal group.
When planted in clusters, it forms an eye‑catching “colour block” effect.
• Additional Features
Moderate growth speed; accelerates with CO₂ and strong light.
Produces side shoots easily after trimming, allowing dense group formation.
Prefers nutrient‑rich substrate for strong root development.
New shoots often emerge in lighter pink shades.
Can grow emersed in open‑top tanks, developing slightly different leaf texture.
• Fertilization, Temperature, CO₂ Sensitivity, and General Parameters
Light: Medium to high. Higher light enhances colour intensity.
CO₂: Recommended. The plant survives without CO₂, but colours fade and growth slows.
Temperature: 22–28°C.
pH: 6.0–7.5.
Fertilization:
Iron (Fe) supplementation strengthens red pigmentation.
Regular micro and macro nutrients are important for healthy growth.
Nutrient‑rich substrate reduces lower‑leaf melt and improves overall density.
Water hardness: Soft to moderately hard water is suitable.
One bunch includes at least 5 healthy, well‑rooted plants.
All plants will be delivered fully rooted and ready to be planted immediately.
